If you've taken a look at my profile you will notice one of my interests is Communism. Now, I do not identify with Communists, it is an ideology I am currently exploring. "Why Communism?", you ask. Well, I don't know exactly why I was drawn to it but I think it may have something to do with my growing up with the internet. The basic idea of Communism is: all are equal. It is very much the same on the internet; no user is more important than an other user. Everybody gets processed equally through the internet.
Another aspect I've come to appreciate from the internet is this Anonymous phenomenon. This idea of not using a name is similar to the way the internet and Communism work. No one is special, we are all equal and must all contribute to the collective. I find this idea of anonymity discourages selfishness. People won't just do or say things for personal gain or attention because their actions are not attached to their name. I have heard people say Communism doesn't work because people won't have an incentive to work, to be creative, or do their best. I don't think this is true. Even in today's society, people do lots of good work for the benefit of the community. Just imagine that on a scale of a country. People wouldn't pick careers based on money, they would pick careers based on their interests and skills in a given field.
I'm not yet sold on this ideology but I'm not going to shrug it aside because others say it's bad without a reason. Keeping with the Anonymous idea, you will notice that my profile is rather bleak and lacking personal information. This was done intentionally and will remain that way. Have a nice day.
